Becoming a Shamanic Healer: A Three-Year Initiation and Professional Training

The intention of this training is to provide you with the skills, experience, and understanding you need to begin working on behalf of clients as a professional shamanic healer.

The components of the training include:

  • Nine 5-day gatherings over the course of three years
  • Eight conference calls that will take place in between the gatherings
  • A “homework” journey assigned each week – more than 100 journeys for personal inquiry and healing
  • A comprehensive reading list to compliment your learning
  • Small study and practice groups that will meet in between the gatherings (which can be joined via Skype for those who live outside of the Boulder, CO area)
  • First Gathering: The Art of Divination

Successful divination lies at the heart of effective shamanic healing. During this gathering, you will become fluent in the language of your helping spirits, and refine your ability to receive and convey trustworthy, insightful, and helpful guidance.

Second Gathering: Partnering with the Natural World

This gathering will provide you with an opportunity to discover and cultivate relationships with your allies in the natural world, including the benevolent spirits of the elements, trees, stones, plants, flowers, the sun, the moon, the stars, the guardians of the land, etc. You will experience rituals for visioning, discharging, grieving, and empowerment that will be undertaken in partnership with your new allies, and can be easily adapted to meet your own clients’ needs.

Third Gathering: Becoming Transparent to the Divine

This gathering will be devoted to practices for becoming fully permeable to the divine for the purpose of bringing through healing spiritual light. You will begin by enlisting the support of a gatekeeper and body protector, and proceed with an exploration of the spirit gates, which are the portals of communication with non-ordinary reality. With that foundation firmly in place, you will learn the shamanic healing techniques of merging and transfiguration, as well as the applications of these powerful shamanic healing rituals.

Fourth Gathering: Healing Wounds from Other Lifetimes

Memories, fears, and unresolved issues from other times and places can accompany us into our current lives, making it difficult for us to be fully rooted in our present circumstances. During this gathering, you will learn how to revisit the other lives of your clients, for the purpose of uncovering and resolving what lies at the root of their current struggles, and freeing them from past entanglements.

Fifth Gathering: Removing Foreign Energy and Energetic Enmeshment

The focus of this gathering will be to restore energetic autonomy by way of extraction and cord cutting. You will learn three methods for diagnosing and removing foreign energy, and two approaches to cutting energetic cords. You will also discover the role that negative thought forms play in compounding illness, as well as the difference between feeling and sending emotions. Finally, you will experience the process of becoming inspirited as a means for prevention against foreign energies of all kinds.

    Sixth Gathering: Restoring Lost Power

From a shamanic point of view, our well-being is a function of our connection to our spiritual power. When that connection becomes compromised or severed, we become vulnerable to spiritual illnesses such as soul loss and power loss. During this gathering, you will learn the symptoms and ramifications of power loss, the remedies for restoring lost power by way of soul retrieval and power animal retrieval, and preventative practices for continually strengthening your connection to your spiritual power.

Seventh Gathering: Shamanic Healing for the Dying and the Dead

Shamans tend to the spiritual well-being of the living and the dying, as well as the dead. As such, it is essential for shamanic healers to possess the appropriate skills and sensitivity for working with those who are actively in the dying process, as well as the souls of those who have already passed and are in need of shamanic support. Therein lies the focus of this gathering: to learn how to guide those who are actively passing to a peaceful crossing, and to intervene on behalf of the souls who have failed to cross over and are in need of loving assistance.

    Eighth Gathering: The Practitioner-Client Relationship

As with any healing modality, the sense of safety that a client feels when working with a shamanic healer is critical to the outcome of the session. Safety is generated by strong boundaries, as well as the experience of being held in one’s process with compassion and care. In order for you as a practitioner to be fully present in those ways, you must be clear about your boundaries, committed to your own self-care, and skilled in the art of navigating the intimate relationship between a client and a healer. This gathering will enable you to take a close look at both sides of the client-practitioner relationship, with the intention of bringing awareness, clarity, and thoughtfulness to the tending of that chalice.

Ninth Gathering: Creating a Successful Shamanic Healing Practice

We will spend our final gathering laying the ground for your shamanic healing practice, which will include further clarifying your unique offering as a shamanic healer, increasing your thresholds for abundance and success, enlisting the support of the benevolent spirit of money, and calling-in the clients who will be best served by your shamanic gifts.
